Each month, Shop In RI Magazine profiles one member of “The Dream Team,” a weekly networking group that meets in Smithfield. This month, we feature Henry Mallett of Ground Control Landscaping, LLC, in Warwick.
His business specializes in lawn care and mowing, installing flower beds, mulching, ornamental pruning, and leaf removal. Henry enjoys the outdoors, which makes his endeavor perfect for his talents. After discovering his knack for helping homeowners, he decided to pursue his passion full-time in May 2023.
While he thinks globally, Mallett acts locally. His services extend throughout Rhode Island. For clients who just need their lawns mowed either weekly or bi-weekly, Mallett prefers working within Warwick, East Greenwich, and Cranston. He explained that his calling card is being meticulous.
“I take immense pride in my work,” he said. “There are miniscule details that I see that others would not merit a second look. For example, I may see an edge on a flower bed that isn’t completely straight. Someone else may think it is, but I make sure mine is like a laser. The same holds true for seasonal cleanups. I always shoot to get every last leaf. I hold myself to this standard for every project.”
Mallett works for primarily residential clients. He would like to expand into the commercial market. An ideal client is someone who cares about their lawn and does not mind paying a little extra for its maintenance. His goal is to grow a full service customer base, but someone who just needs a mow is also a good referral.
As for joining The Dream Team, Mallett cites member Joe Mazzone for extending an invitation for him to attend a meeting. What impressed Mallett was the group’s hospitality when he first arrived.
“I started going around the beginning of April, and have already experienced and reciprocated the benefits, and gained many new friendships. The group truly cares about each other and our mutual success.” Mallett shared.

“The Dream Team” currently has 40 members and is growing. They meet every Wednesday morning from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM at the Home2Suites Hilton, on Douglas Pike in Smithfield, across from Laura’s Bar and Grill. The group is looking to grow its team and is interested in meeting professionals from various businesses looking to connect and help each other grow through referral business. Dream Team is all about “Friends helping Friends.”
