There simply is no better place to find authentic, Italian food than in Little Rhody’s capital city, and the state’s official Little Italy. Yes, that is a fact! Everyone knows that Providence is home to the type of Italian food that your grandma made for the entire family, every Sunday, and she did it with love.
The city is a shining gem for food lovers, boasting a rich tapestry of Italian restaurants that range from time-honored classics to modern interpretations.
The countless restaurants also offer choices with a plethora of dishes, composed of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, that allow it to claim best in the state, and arguably, in the entire country.
Even with frigid winter weather right around the corner, it will be worth the chill to venture out for a night of feasting and fun.

Crime and Cuisine on Federal Hill
The Federal Hill neighborhood of Providence “the Hill” is one of its hottest destinations, home to some of the best Italian food in the world. This tour will give you a smorgasbord of its best bites and drinks, from fine wines to family recipes, passed down through generations, with good humored, “mobster entertainment” you can only find in Rhode Island.
The Hill is not just known for its spectacular Italian fare, but is also known to have been home to some historic characters, who dabbled on the wrong side of the law. Follow the intrigue of State vs. Patriarca, when a future mayor took on a mob boss; learn about the corruption which brought Rhode Island’s banking system to its knees in the ’90s, and also about a raid on an illegal dice game that sent a Providence Police officer through a second-story window.
