Believers United in Christ will be holding an event at Johnston Memorial Park on Saturday, June 21, from 10:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
Everyone is welcome to come and participate in a day of worship, prayer and praise. Activities planned include guest speakers, Living Scripture Theater, and worship music by artist and song writer Eric Lee Brumley. This day will also offer prayer for our military, local and state representatives, first responders and school committees as outlined in 1 Timothy 2:1-2.
Rev. Butera is quoted: “At 12:00 PM, we will be asking all Rhode Island local and state leaders who attend this celebration to stand together in unison and join us in prayer. Christian leaders will lead in prayer, seeking the wisdom of the Holy Spirit in their decisions as they lead and represent the residents of Rhode Island. We will be asking for His presence in our school committees and school administrators’ hearts as they guide our children in becoming upright citizens helping to propel our State in the future.”
All churches are invited to showcase their community outreach programs, such as missionary, food pantry, Biblical counseling, Christian school, etc.
Rev. Butera encourages local businesses to consider becoming Event Sponsors. Several levels ranging from “Champion Sponsor” to “Gold Sponsor” to “Silver Sponsor” have increasingly more benefits and visibility amongst the attendees and community.
Among the Champion Sponsors include: The Way of the Cross, The Lawrence Agency, Printing Connection, and MCD The Inland Trucker. Other companies are committed to the Gold and Silver levels. Butera welcomes more businesses to inquire about becoming a sponsor.
Speakers include Pastor Jose Ferreras, Rev. David Butera, Rev. Mike Woodward, and Mike Quilty will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
According to Rev. Butera, several colleagues from a men’s fellowship Bible study that meet on Saturday mornings got together and wanted to bring a united Christian event to the community. The team agreed that Johnston Memorial Park was the best venue to hold this event as a central location for the surrounding communities.
“The incentive is for the power of God to move within the churches and within our State and our Nation. This is the backbone behind the vision for this event,” he said.
Butera noted that they are passionate about bringing the word of God to everyone. This event is about bringing all Christian churches, regardless of denominations, who believe in the inerrant word of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, to praise, pray, and worship as a body followers of Jesus Christ together for a glorious day. . . Seeking God’s divine presence and guidance within all facets of our culture and society.
Believers United In Christ is devoted to a life of serving our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They utilize the talents God has bestowed upon them and the spiritual guidance of the Holy Spirit to glorify God, do His work, and renew lives by bringing the light of the Gospel to all people.

Butera said, “As people know, our nation is facing unprecedented challenges, and it often feels like the church’s voice has been too quiet amidst the turmoil. This is a critical time for the church to stand up and speak. We frequently see large gatherings advocating for various causes. This event is to show solidarity as believers in Christ, and we can demonstrate our commitment to faith and the moral values prescribed within the pages of the Holy Bible. We, as a team, encourage you and your congregation to join us at the Believers United in Christ event on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 10am to 4pm at Johnston Memorial Park. Together, we can be a powerful witness to the strength and unity of the Christian community.”
