Each month, Shop in RI Magazine profiles one member of a growing business networking group called, “The Dream Team,” that meets weekly in Smithfield. This month, we feature Bob Crudale of Amazing Specialties in Cranston.
Bob has been with his company for five decades. He provides clients with promotional items and services. He can either create, design, or even find that special way to get a business or event in front of customers.
He has an array of products ranging from the typical mugs, office supplies, and clothing (such as shirts with company logos embroidered), to items commemorating special events, such as grand openings and milestones.
Bob has created a great business model that focuses on one core value:
“My secret to success has been providing efficient and effective customer service,” Crudale said. “I can get orders into my vendors and get them processed rather quickly. I can also offer discounts from my vendors that help keep clients happy. Although the times have changed, people are still in the market to get their names out there.”
The reason for Bob joining the Dream Team is to have the opportunity to meet many other business people that become their sales’ people. Every time each one of these members of the Dream Team are out seeing their customers and the customer mentions a need, there’s another member in the group that most likely can fulfill that need, he said.
“It doesn’t even have to be a customer, but someone may be just having a conversation and says, ‘Hey do you know someone that…Yes, I’ve got a guy for you.’ It’s like having 20-plus extra sales’ people doing your bidding.
“I wouldn’t give up my seat at the Dream Team for anything,” Crudale said.

“The Dream Team” currently has 20 members. They meet every Wednesday morning, from
7:00 AM to 8:30 AM at the Home2Suites Hilton on Douglas Pike (Rte. 7) in Smithfield, across from Laura’s Bar and Grill. The group is looking to grow its chapter and are interested in meeting professionals from HVAC, event planning, personal injury attorneys, and photography.
