Each month, Shop in RI Magazine profiles one member of “The Dream Team,” a weekly networking group that meets in Smithfield. This month, we feature Steven Gosetti, Insurance Agent & Financial Representative of Bankers Life and Bankers Life Securities, in Warwick.
Gosetti’s involvement in this industry spans almost two decades. He works with clients on ensuring their families are protected from loss. Whether the issue stems from health-related topics, such as Medicare/Medicaid, life insurance, or income generation, Gosetti uses his knowledge and experience to navigate through such issues.
Gosetti’s philosophy on what he does is quite simple.
“What I do is not exciting; what I do is essential,” he explained.
His mission is protecting clients’ assets that have accumulated over a lifetime, so their heirs aren’t coping with a dual loss of income, and the loss of a loved one. Because the world is an uncertain place, there are often fears from his clients regarding what might happen next.
“My job is to protect the clients’ life’s work,” Gosetti said. “Life is too unpredictable and sometimes, it can throw people a monkey wrench into their plans. Life insurance isn’t there for you, it’s there for your loved ones after you’ve passed away, so they can continue living.”
A client that would benefit from Gosetti’s services is anyone over the age of 50, who is considering retirement in the next year or two, and/or anyone who is currently retired.
He joined The Dream Team as a way of helping others with their professional problems. He also enjoys helping family, friends, and colleagues, whenever a situation arises.
When he isn’t helping others with their future, Gosetti enjoys hitting objects with sticks. He is an avid golfer and billiards player. He is also the proud owner of 16 patents on golf ball designs.
“The Dream Team” currently has 25 members and is growing. They meet every Wednesday morning, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, at the Home2Suites Hilton on Douglas Pike (Rte. 7), in Smithfield, across from Laura’s Bar and Grill. The group is looking to grow its team and is interested in meeting professionals from various businesses that are looking to connect and help each other grow through referral business. The Dream Team is all about “Friends helping Friends.”
