It’s the annual Rhode Island Christmas Festival on Saturday, November 18 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Sunday, November 19, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at the West Warwick Civic Center, 100 Factory St., West Warwick, RI. It’s free admission. Free parking.

Saints John & Paul Parish continues its annual tradition with the 65th Annual Snowflake Bazaar! The Bazaar will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 9am to 4pm, and Sunday, October 23, 2022. from 8am to 1pm, at the Saints John & Paul Parish Center
The Snowflake Bazaar, held annually since its inception in 1957, is one of the biggest holiday bazaars in the state. This eagerly awaited event offers a wide variety of holiday booths with items for purchase including gifts, jewelry, knitted articles, religious items, baked goods, pastries, and much more. There are many ways to take a chance winning fantastic prizes including wine, lotteries, chances for Baskets Galore themed baskets, major raffles, Gift Card Bingo, and a beautiful hand-crafted quilt. They will also offer their 3rd annual Cow Chip Bingo! Children will love the Twinkle Town, where they can have photos taken with Santa, make arts and crafts, or play games of skill to win great prizes.
The kitchen is open for breakfast and lunch, with a wide variety of delicious foods and snacks. Freshly baked homemade cookies are also available at the popular Cookie Jar. Entertaining music is provided through the Bazaar.

The annual OCEAN STATE ARTISANS HOLIDAY CRAFT SHOW and FOOD DRIVE returns for its 32nd year. This popular Thanksgiving weekend event is a shopping tradition for many and is one of the largest holiday craft shows in Rhode Island. Featuring a wide variety of handcrafted items made by local artisans, this year’s show also features made-to-order fresh wreaths from Big John Leyden’s Tree Farm. Place your wreath order when you enter and then enjoy shopping at the 80+ booths. Your wreath will be ready when your shopping is done! Children can enjoy face painting and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Shoppers can take part in the “Ocean State Artisans Challenge” to win a prize. The first 200 shoppers each day will receive a special gift (1 per family). DATES AND TIMES: ADMISSION: $3 per adult. $1 off admission with the donation of a non-perishable food item for the Rhode Island Community Food Bank. Please help them reach their goal of raising 5500 pounds of food! 100% of the admission fees are donated to local charities.

The decadence of Newport’s Gilded Age mansions meets the sparkle and magic of Christmas during the return of holidays at the Newport Mansion. Wander three mansions, the The Breakers, The Elms and Marble House, dripping in 25 enchanting Christmas trees, a floor-to-ceiling poinsettia tree, hundreds of fresh flowers, evergreens and elaborate ornaments.
Christmas at Blithewold Mansion

Each year, this historic estate transforms into a sparkling display of Christmas magic to celebrate the season. Volunteer decorators contrive a new theme each year that explores the interests of the Van Winkle family, the previous mansion owners, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Wander the elaborately decorated rooms and enjoy a glimpse into the family’s Christmas and New Years’ traditions.
Newport Illuminated Boat Parade
Bundle up and head to the harbor for the Illuminated Boat Parade as boats deck the hulls and festive music heralds the arrival of the holiday season. Watch the parade of lights where boats compete for best decorated.

Finding Your Perfect Fresh Christmas Tree in Rhode Island in 2023
Check out a local farm or farm stand for the full tree-finding experience.
Rhode Island has more than two dozen Christmas tree farms, many of which allow you to select and even cut your own tree. Unfortunately, some of the farms are already sold out due to local popularity, advance tree-tagging, and even because summer drought stunted the growth of this year’s crop at some farms. But there are still plenty of options for finding the perfect tree. Select the ideal Christmas tree to decorate with the family this holiday season at one of these Rhode Island tree farms or farm stands. Firs, spruces, pines, and more, are available for purchase at these locations. Don’t forget to bring rope if you have it.
Big John Leyden’s Tree Farm
179 Plain Meeting House Rd.
At Big John Leyden’s Tree Farm, choose between ten different varieties of trees, such as Balsam Fir, White Pine, and Leyland Cypress. Either cut your own tree the day you arrive, or tag one for later. Prices range from $35-$350; Check online for a $5 coupon for your chosen tree.
Escobar’s Highland Farm
255 Middle Rd.
Saturday and Sunday, noon-4 p.m.
Choose and cut your own tree at Escobar’s and be prepared to take one home the day you visit. Trees like Fraser Fir and Blue Spruce range from $40-$60, depending on size. To find the trees, drive down the driveway of the corn maze and go towards the right.
The Farmer’s Daughter
1650 Broad Rock Rd.
Monday to Thursday, 2 p.m.- dusk, Friday, 10 a.m.- dusk, Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m.- dusk.
Search through an extensive variety of trees from the Farmer’s Daughter. Take advantage of their complimentary services, including shaking, baling, and more. Prices range from $58-$125 (tax included) for all trees, between two to twenty feet tall. Festive greenery and other decor are available, as well. Warm up with some hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and apple cider doughnuts from The Hard Pressed Cider Company on Saturdays and Sundays (Dec. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, and 20), from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., until December 20.
Fraser Orchard and Tree Farm
Friday to Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
Premium Christmas trees are available for tagging at Fraser Orchard and Tree Farm. Cut your own beloved tree, or have one of their cutters chop down and carry the tree to your car. They can also wrap your tree with string, free of charge.
Pachet Brook Tree Farm

Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., Thursday and Friday, noon-4 p.m.
Stroll through Pachet Brook Tree Farm’s ninety acres of land to find the fir, pine, or spruce tree of your dreams. Tag or choose and cut a tree up to twenty-five feet tall, and have it wrapped before purchasing a Gunnard Tree Stand. Also look for wreaths and laurel roping to complete your Christmas décor. Stop by the gift shop for crafts, candles, and more.
Riverside Christmas Tree Farm
80 Burdickville Rd.
Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Riverside Christmas Tree Farm is selling pre-cut and cut-your-own trees, along with wreaths and garland that are ready to be hung to spread some holiday cheer. On December 5 and 6, the Cupcakory dessert food truck will be present, so don’t miss out on the yummy treats.

Seven Cedars Farm is selling Christmas trees, cemetery baskets, wreaths of all sizes (pre-made and custom orders), and more throughout the 2023 holiday season. The farm is also looking to donate a pre-cut tree for a local family in need this year to make the holiday more special for everyone. Message Seven Cedars Farm by December 5 the name of a local family that needs some help this season; the family will be chosen at random.
Sweet Berry Farm
915 Mitchells Ln.
Pre-cut corral open daily, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., pick-and-cut open from 10 a.m.-dusk.
Pre-cut and cut-your-own Christmas trees are available at Sweet Berry Farm, where you can also purchase some delicious heat-and-eat holiday desserts and dishes to help with enhancing the holiday spirit. Explore the December and “Holiday To Go Menu” and call to order.
- Don’t go too big; a tree looks smaller outside than it will in your living room.
- If purchasing a tree on a very cold day, don’t bring it into a warm house immediately.
- If properly watered, most firs will last six to eight weeks indoors.
- Don’t wait too long to buy; some farms close early so as not to deplete their stock of trees for future years.
