Each month, Shop in RI Magazine profiles one member of “The Dream Team,” a weekly networking group that meets in Smithfield. This month, we feature Joseph Carnevale of Savage Law Partners, LLP in Providence.
Savage Law Partners, LLP law firm deals with business, government, and commercial clients on a variety of issues impacting small and large projects. Attorney Joseph Carnevale specializes in construction law, where he works with tradespeople, to get them the legal support and documentation needed to get them moving forward. Carnevale sees the firm and himself as a valuable resource in their tool belt.
“People in the trades want to work. They often don’t have the time or knowledge to work on these aspects of their respective businesses. That is where I can step in and offer them direction on keeping their business going,” Carnevale said.
Besides that, he works on contract disputes, receivership, bankruptcies, business partnerships, and other topics.
Carnevale has been with the South Water Street-based law firm since September 2021. He is licensed to practice law in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.

As for joining The Dream Team, Carnevale said that he was involved with another networking group that disbanded. A couple of members asked him to visit this new group. After visiting The Dream Team, he became a member, and has been impressed with the results, thus far.
“I was in a group with Ray (Fonceca, of Liberty Title and Escrow). He made the suggestion to come to this meeting. When I became a member, (Realtor) Greg (Smith) and I had plenty of symmetry between our work. Other members have been helpful to me, as well. The Dream Team is a good mix of people,” Carnevale expressed.
The Dream Team currently has 26 members, and is growing. They meet every Wednesday morning, from 7:00 AM to 8:30 AM, at the Home2Suites Hilton on Douglas Pike (Rte. 7) in Smithfield, across from Laura’s Bar and Grill. The group is looking to grow its team and is interested in meeting professionals from various businesses looking to connect and help each other grow, through referral business. The Dream Team is all about, “Friends helping Friends.”
